The Regular QC of PGL was held within Dalmellington Community Centre on Wednesday 30 June 2010, hosted by Lodge St Thomas Kilwinning No. 433. A large Deputation from Sister PG Lodges was headed by RWPGM Bro. Jim Smithers of the PGL of Galloway. The Adam Pettigrew Cup was presented to Lodge Beith St John No.157 in recognition of the Lodges donation to the Sponsored walk. The 549 Quaich was presented to Lodge St John RA No.320 in recognition of their contribution via the Penny a Day Fund. Brother Andrew Letham, PM 156, was presented with a Certificate acknowledging his completion of the PGL Visitors Passport. The PGM had much pleasure in Conferring the rank of Honorary PG Tyler on Brother Robert Calderwood of Lodge St Thomas Kilwinning No.433 in recognition of his 25th anniversary of being installed as Lodge Tyler, an office which his father and grandfather had held before him. These three brethren had held the post for 77 consecutive years, so far. At the close of the meeting the brethren enjoyed Lodge hospitality in the Lodge premises. A very well attended Communication and our thanks go to the host Lodge for everything that they arranged on behalf of PGL.
On Thursday 1 July 2010 the RWPGM accompanied by SPGM Brother Sam Peden joined a Deputation from Lodge St Thomas Kilwinning No.433, headed by RWM Brother John Haynes, to the opening of a new Garden within the Craigengillan Estate to commemorate the Centenary of the 33rd Ayrshire Scout Group (Dalmellington). The Lodge had provided a beautiful sundial which was the centre-piece of the garden. The Provost of South Ayrshire, Winifred Sloan, was in attendance. Congratulations must go to the Lodge for their continued involvement within their community.

On Monday 28 June 2010 the RWPGM attended Lodge St John RA No.320for the purpose of presenting Brother William Hail MM, with his 60 year Membership Diploma. RWM Brother Sam Innes presided over the meeting. The PGM was accompanied by his PGL Wardens.

On Friday 25 June 2010 the RWPGM attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge Thistle and Rose No.169. RWM Bro. George Reid presiding. The EA Degree was conferred on one candidate by RWM Bro. Jim Dempster and Brethren from Lodge Irvine St Andrew No.149. During the meeting the PGM presented a 60 Year Membership Diploma to Bro. Peter Howie MM via his grand-nephew Bro. Calum McKenzie. Brother Howie presently lives in Canada. The Deputation from PGL, which also included SPGM Bro. Sam Peden, was headed by PGSW Bro. William Haggarty, PM 149/HM169. |

On Thursday 10 June 2010 Brother William Pettigrew, PM Lodge St Thomas Kilwinning Dalmellington No.433, attended The Grand Lodge of Scotland's Regular Communication in his new capacity of Member of the Board of Grand Stewards representing the Province of Ayrshire. Brother Pettigrew joins Brother Stuart Muirhead PM Lodge St James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125 and Brother Robert Stewart, PM Lodge St Peter No.331. There was a good representation from his Mother Lodge to wish him well in this new phase of his Masonic Career. Our usually camera-shy RWPGM joined in the photo shoot. |

On 3 June RWPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers visited Lodge Neptune Kilwinning No. 442. After welcoming the deputation from PGLA RWM Bro. John Taylor welcomed a deputation from Lodge St John (Kilwinning) Largs No. 173 into the Lodge. RWM Bro. Sandy Connor and his conferring team, carried out a second degree.

The RWPGM Bro Archie Chalmers accompanied by Bro Stewart Cruickshank PM, attended the last meeting before recess of Lodge St David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No 133 on 25 May 2010. WJW Bro Jack Fleming conferred an excellent Fellowcraft degree. RWM Bro Colin Brotherton of Lodge Fergusson St James No 566 spoke on behalf of the visitors and praised the WJW for his very fine efforts. RWM Bro William Lennox thanked all Office-Bearers and Brethren for their support over the last few months and wished them well over the summer holiday period. Following the meeting the RWPGM was on hand to sign copies of the recently launched book of extracts from the minutes of PGL. |

On Tuesday 18 May 2010 the RWPGM, accompanied by DPGM Bro. R Little and SPGM Bro. W Raeside, attended the Half-Yearly Convocation of the PG RA Chapter of Ayrshire at Stevenston. As usual the G Supt MEC James Hodge made the Deputation most welcome. At the close of the meeting the Deputation was invited to retire with the members of Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland.

On Friday 14 May the RWPGM and his wife Sadie attended the Annual Dance of Lodge Thistle and Rose No 169. During the evening RWM Bro. George Reid presented the James McFarlane School, Ardrossan, with a cheque for £1000.

On Saturday 15 May 2010, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro. Archie Chalmers, accompanied by DPGM Bro. Robert Little, attended a Special Meeting of Catrine and Sorn Royal Arch Chapter No.148 and witnessed a Re-Enactment of a Royal Arch Ceremonial dating from around 1755. They were the guests of both the local Chapter and the PG RA Chapter of Ayrshire. |

On 13 May, RWPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers paid a visit to Lodge Troon Navigation No. 86. RWM Bro. Thomas Fergusson welcomed the RWPGM and his Deputation into the Lodge. included in the Deputation were Brethren from Lodge Loyalty No. 86 in the English Constitution headed by Bro. Ian Watson. After the business was completed, the RWM welcomed a Deputation of Past Masters of Lodge Troon Navigation, headed by PM John Coats to confer a third degree.

On 12 May, Right Worshipful Master Brother Andrew Main welcomed the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Brother Archibald Chalmers into Lodge Ayr St. Paul No. 204. After the business was completed, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master delivered a talk on Brother Robert Shankland, a member of 204, who was awarded the VC. All present, including Brethren from outside the Province enjoyed the talk.

On Sunday 9 May 2010, the RWPGM attended the Annual Divine Service of the District Grand Priory of Ayrshire held within the Old High Kirk in Kilmarnock. The Rev Robert Travis welcomed the District Grand Prior, Rt. Em. Fr. John M. Turner, the members from Ayrshire, Sister District Grand Priory's, Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Ayrshire and the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Brother Archibald Chalmers attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge St John RA Ardrossan and Saltcoats No. 320 on Monday 10 May 2010 and witnessed a Fellowcraft Degree conferred by Lodge St Andrew No.126. Immediate Past Master Brother Colin Boyd presided. Right Worshipful Master Brother Stuart Hamilton of Lodge St Andrew No.126 headed his Lodge Deputation.
The Candidate has the initials AC so when retiring from the Lodge the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master invited Past Provincial Grand Master Brother Adam Cunningham and Brother Alistair Conn to retire along with the candidate. |
On Saturday 8 May 2010 the RWPGM attended Lodge St John Kilwinning No.173 in Largs. The RWM Brother Sandy Connor, presided over a Special Meeting held to celebrate the Centenary of the Laying of the Foundation Stone of the present Lodge premises. The main item of business was to witness a re-enactment of an Auld Degree (c)1695 which was conducted by RWM Brother John Duncan and Brethren of the Mother Lodge. On 4th May RW PGM Archibald Chalmers visited Lodge Burns St. Mary, No 505. After welcoming the PGM, RWM Derek Smith welcomed a deputation from Lodge Thistle, Stewarton, No. 127 (The PGM’s Mother Lodge). Lodge Thistle then conferred a first degree. |
On Friday 30th April 2010 the RWPGM, Brother Archibald Chalmers, presided over the Quarterly Communication of the PGL held within the Masonic Premises in London Road, Kilmarnock. At the opening of the Meeting he welcomed Brother Colin McCormick PM 135 who had just recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. As a representative of all Brethren who were serving in HM Forces at present the RWPGM invited him to join him in the East. A large Deputation from Sister PGL's was headed by RWPGM Brother T. K. Leckenby of Dunbartonshire. Lodge Prestwick No.1060 was presented with the PG Lodge Golf Trophy. An excellent Communication started at 1930 and closed by 2100. |

The RWPGM attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge St Clement RKK No.202 on Tuesday 27 April 2010, RWM Brother Ian Steel presiding. RWM Brother Steven Boylan, accompanied by a large Deputation from Lodge St Peter No.331, conferred the FC Degree on Brother Calum Oliver (son of PM John Oliver). Afterwards the RWM, assisted by the RWPGM, presented a surprised Brother Roger Williamson PM 331 with a Certificate congratulating him on his Distinguished Service Diploma which he had received recently from his Mother Lodge. On Friday 23rd April 2010 the RWPGM attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge St Matthew Kilwinning No.549 for the purpose of presenting Brother Robert Martin with his Jubilee Certificate. The Lodge was presided over by RWM Brother Frank Hill. A large deputation, of 18 brethren, from Lodge Prestwick No.1060 entered the Lodge to claim the Travelling Mallet. Lodge No.1060 had started off their Centenary Year as the Holders of the Mallet and were now finishing the year off by reclaiming it. The brethren of "549" conferred the EA Degree upon one candidate. On 21 April, SPGM Samuel Peden headed a Deputation from PGLA into Lodge St. Thomas, Dalmellington for the purpose of the annual visitation. SPGM Bro. William Raeside accompanied the deputation. RWM John Haynes welcomed the Deputation, and then carried on with the business of the evening before handing the Lodge over to PGLA. Samuel Peden carried out the annual visitation and granted 433 a clear minute, and then presented a 50 year diploma to PM Thomas Chalmers. |

After being welcomed by RWM Colin Brotherton, RW PGM Archibald Chalmers presented a 50 year diploma to PM Andrew Lees, and thereafter delivered his talk on Bro. Sir Alexander Fleming. |
On 13th April, SPGM Drew Rankine headed the PGLA deputation into Lodge Boswell St. James No. 1011, for the annual visitation. RWM John Thomson welcomed the deputation and then conducted a first degree on one candidate. SPGM Drew Rankine then granted Boswell St. James a clear minute. |

On Wednesday 7th April 2010 the RWPGM attended a Regular Meeting of Lodge St Peter No.331 for the purpose of presenting Past Master Brother Roger Williamson with a Distinguished Service Diploma on behalf of his Mother Lodge. The meeting was presided over by RWM Brother Steven Boylan until the presentation was about to be made when the RWPGM placed Brother Roger in the Chair. He then delivered a "This is your Life" talk about Brother Williamson reminding him of a few of the many contributions that he had made to his Mother Lodge, Sister Lodges, Provincial Grand Lodge and the Barr Castle Social Club. A somewhat shocked and surprised Brother Roger made a suitable reply. The night was added to by the Deputation form PGL, apart from the PGM, all being Past Masters of Lodge St Peter No.331. On 7 April, SPGM William Steel headed the PGLA deputation to Lodge St. John, Maybole No.11 for the annual visitation. After welcoming the deputation into the lodge, RWM William Cuthbert completed the business of the lodge and then invited SPGM William Steel to present a 50year diploma to Bro. Robin Geddes. A Fellowcraft degree followed before the lodge was granted a clear minute. |
