The RWPGM paid a visit to Lodge Dunlop Caledonia No.1408 on 11 September 2008. After being warmly welcomed into the Lodge, a second degree was carried out on one candidate. Due to his illness the RWM was unable to attend the Lodge and the IPM conferred Honorary Membership on Bro. Fred Christie, MM of Lodge Neilston No.1167, and Lodge Stincher Valley.

On 10 September 2008the RWPGM made an unofficial visit to Ayr St. Paul No.204. After being welcomed into the Lodge, a large deputation from Renfrewshire East headed by Lodge Georgetown, Cardonald No.1170 was received and they conferred the Mark degree on one candidate. Also in the Deputation were Masters and Brethren from Lodges 129, 370, 1116, 1218, 1219 and 1405. Three other Masters present were from 125, 441 and 1334.

On Monday 8 September, Depute PGM Bro. Robert Little headed a Deputation into Lodge St James Newton upon Ayr No. 125 for their annual visitation, also in the deputation was the PGM. A clear minute was given to 125. RWM Bro. Joe Fitzgerald headed a deputation from Lodge St. Peter Galston No.331 to claim the travelling mallet. The PGM presented, on behalf of 125, Certificates to two brethren and a year book to the candidate of the night.

At the annual bowling match between Lodge Prestwick 1060 and Prestwick Bowling Club the cup was retained by the Club. The big winner of the day however was West Sound's Cash for Kids fund. The Lodge Master Bro. Iain Hull accompanied by Club President Donnelly Mack presented a cheque for £500 to West Sound's Susan Carswell. A big thank-you to all who took part.

The PGLA annual visitation to Lodge Thistle No. 127 was held on 2 September 2008. The Deputation was headed by SPGM Bro. Drew Rankine, with SPGM Bro. Neville Clark and Office-Bearers. RWPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers was there as a PM of 127, his Mother Lodge. RWM Bro. James Hall, presented a portrait commissioned by the Lodge to RWPGM Bro. Archie. At the end of the night and before leaving the Lodge the picture was hung in place.

A Jubilee Dinner was held on 23 August 2008 within the premises of Lodge St James (Kilwinning) Tarbolton No. 135. The purpose of this was to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the 1983 Amendment to the 1807 Agreement. The Brethren were welcomed to the celebration by the chairman for the evening, Depute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Robert Little. Grace was said by Provincial Grand Chaplain Bro. The Rev. Ian Benzie and the meal was served promptly at 5pm. Following the Dinner the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Kilwinning proposed a Toast to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire. The Toast was delivered in a most sincere yet humorous manor and was well received by the Brethren of Ayrshire. The reply was given by the sparkling wit of Provincial Grand Lodge Chaplain Bro. The Rev.Ian U MacDonald who alluded to his service in the PGL. After this the PGM Bro. Archie presented PGL Chaplain Bro. Ian with the Rank of Honorary Provincial Depute Grand Master for his services to 8 successive Provincial Grand Masters. A letter from the Most Worshipful the Grand Master Mason was then read by PPGM Bro. Adam Cunningham. Bro. Ian replied to both showing the humility which accompanies genuine appreciation of the honour bestowed upon him and the respect and esteem he is held in by the Brethren of not just Ayrshire but around Scotland.
Bro. Hugh McNeillie MM St James No. 135 then entertained the company with stories from his time in South Africa as well as some humorous stories which had the audience laughing. Substitute Provincial Grand Master Bro. William Raeside proposed the toast to the Daughter Lodges while RWM Bro. David Rae of Lodge St James No. 135 replied by congratulating Bro. Ian and speaking of immense pride on behalf of their Mother Lodge. Substitute Grand Master Bro. Archibald M McGown spoke on behalf of the guests from the Grand Lodge of Scotland while RWM Bro. Robert McCrea spoke on behalf of the guest Lodges, in particular Mother Kilwinning. A vote of thanks was given by the RWPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers. Thereafter the evening concluded traditionally by singing Auld Lang Syne.
The RWPGM attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge St John Royal Arch No.320 on Monday 28 July 2008 where IPM Brother John Brown presided. He also attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge Neptune Kilwinning No.442 on Thursday 7 August which was presided over by the RWM Brother Kevin McGinn. His Uncle, Brother Martin McGinn WJW of Lodge Royal Arch No. 314, gave a short, but very interesting lecture on the assassination of the Earl of Eglinton and Winton in the late 1700's.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by Depute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Robert Little and Substitute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Neville Clark, attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge Neptune Kilwinning No.442 in Saltcoats on Thursday 3 July 2008. Past Master Bro. Duncan Stanners chaired the meeting in the absence of the Right Worshipful Master Bro. Kevin McGinn who was on holiday. The meeting was "Business Only" and the brethren were downstairs in harmony before 8:30pm.

At the last meeting before their recess on 27 June, the RWPGM along with DM Bro. Robert Little and SPGM Bro. Neville Clark, attended the meeting of Lodge Thistle and Rose Stivenstoune No.169. On this occasion Lodge Irvine St Andrew No.149 carried out a FC degree. Also in attendance was RWM of Lodge St John Royal Arch No.320 Bro. Colin Boyd and RWM of Lodge St Andrew No.126 Bro. Craig Hamilton. The PGM had the pleasure of welcoming W. Bro. James Arthur a PM of Connaught Lodge No.3573 in the Province of Somerset along with his brother-in-law Bro. James Hainey a PM of Lodge St. James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125.

The Quarterly Communication of the Provincial Grand lodge of Ayrshire was held within the premises of Lodge Thistle and Rose Stivenstoune No.169 on 25 June 2008. The RWPGM Brother Archie Chalmers chaired the meeting. The RWPGM was pleased to welcome into the Communication the Grand Superintendent of the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Ayrshire, Brother James Hodge. Brother Hodge acknowledged the warm welcome and trusted that his presence would help cement to the Orders of Freemasonry in Ayrshire. The RWPGM then welcomed a very large deputation of brethren from Sister PGL's. They included the PGMs of Kilwinning Bro. David Bloomfield, Galloway Bro. James Smithers, Lanarkshire Upper Ward Bro. William Landsborough, Fife and Kinross Bro. Tom Bradley and Stirlingshire Bro. John McKenzie. Brother McKenzie appreciated the welcome into Ayrshire as this was his first visit to the PGL. The business of the Communication was gone through expeditiously and afterwards all spent some time enjoying the hospitality of the Host Lodge, Thistle and Rose No.169.
At the Summer Communication the RWPGM presented The Adam Pettigrew Cup for most donated towards the Sponsored Walk to Lodge Beith St John's No. 157. Lodge St John Royal Arch No.320 won the 549 Quaich for most donated via the Penny a Day scheme.
The RWPGM attended the Joint Divine Service of Lodges Thistle and Rose No.169, St John Royal Arch No.320 and Lodge Neptune Kilwinning No.442 on Sunday 15 June 2008 at 6:30pm within Ardeer Parish Church. The Service which was most inspiring indeed, was conducted by Brother Reverend John Lafferty, MM Lodge Commercial No.360 and an Honorary Member of Lodge No.169. The RWMs of the three Lodges were present namely, Brother Richard Templeton of No.169, Brother Colin Boyd of No.320 and Brother Kevin McGinn of No.442. The Deputation from Provincial Grand Lodge consisted Brother Robert Little Depute PGM, Bro. Neville Clark, Bro. William Raeside and Bro. Drew Rankine Substitute PGM, Bro. Robert Stewart PG Secretary, Bro. William Haggarty WPJGW and Bro David McClurkin. As usual the hospitality was most generous.

As a result of the Sponsored Walk from Kilmarnock to Loudoun Hill, the Brethren of Lodge St Clement Riccarton (Kilwinning) Kilmarnock No.202 were able to donate the magnificent amount of £1500 to the Children's Ward of Crosshouse Hospital. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master was pleased to accompany them on Wednesday 11 June 2008 when the presentation was made.
