Provincial Grand Lodge visited Lodge St James (Kilwinning) Tarbolton No.135 on 17 October for the purpose of their annual visitation. The Deputation was headed by SPGM Bro. William Raeside with the RWPGM in attendance. The Deputation was made up with DPGM Bro. Robert Little, Past SPGM Bro. Archie Patrick, PGL Secy Bro. Robert Stewart, Acting PSGW Bro. William Haggarty, Acting PJGW Bro. Ian McBreen, Bo. Stuart Muirhead, Bro. John Oliver and Bro. William Dykes. The Brethren witnessed a fine MM ceremonial after which PGL carried out their business and Lodge St James received a clear minute.
The Installation of RWM Stuart Lyon and Office Bearers at Lodge Loudoun Kilwinning Newmilns No.51 was held recently. The Installing Masters were RWPGM Bro Archibald Chalmers and SPGM Bro William Steel. The deputation from PGLA was headed by Depute PGM Bro Robert Little. Past PGM Bro Adam Cunningham, DPGM and PGLA Grand Secretary Robert Stewart were invited to assist with the Installation. Following this the Brethren and visitors enjoyed an excellent meal and harmony.
The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master headed the Annual Visitation to Lodge Montgomerie Kilwinning Skelmorlie No.624 on Wednesday 8 October 2008. His Deputation included Brother Gus Gorman Acting Substitute Provincial Grand Warden; Brother William Haggarty acting Junior Provincial Grand Warden; Brother Derek Welch Acting Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies; Brother Stephen McConnachie and Brother John C. Taylor, Past Substitute Provincial Grand Master. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master afforded the Lodge a "Clear Minute" for which the Right Worshipful Master Brother John Little expressed his thanks. A Candidate was Passed to the Degree of FellowCraft.
On Saturday 4 October 2008, The Provincial Grand Master paid a visit to Burns St. Mary No.505for a special meeting. A large Deputation from Lodge Newbattle St. Mary No.1083 and other Lodges from the East visited 505 for the purpose of conferring the Entered Apprentice degree. The deputation was headed by RWM Bro. Graham Robertson. After the meeting, a dinner was held to celebrate the visit.
At the regular meeting of Lodge Stinchar Valley No 1705 on 25 September 2008, Bro. Robert Stewart gave a talk on American Freemasonry. There was a large attendance of Brethren which included Bro. Andrew Hosie, SPGM of Renfrewshire East.
On Wednesday 24 September 2008 the RWPGM paid an informal visit to Lodge St Andrew No.126 where the Brethren witnessed an excellent rendition of the MM Degree by Lodge Royal Arch No.314. RWM Brother Craig Hamilton of No.126 thanked the RWM of Lodge 314, Brother James B. Cook, for rekindling the inter visitation that both Lodges used to enjoy some years ago.
PM William Black, a weel kent face in Ayrshire Freemasonry, recently celebrated his Golden Wedding with a night among friends and relations within the premise of Lodge Beith St John's Social Club. The money given that evening came to three hundred and sixty five pounds which Mr and Mrs Black will divide between Sense Scotland Cancer Care, Diabetes Research and St Columbus Church. The happy couple are delighted to have received these gifts which they wish to pass on to help others in need.
On 17 September, RWM Quinton Fulton led a deputation from Lodge St Maurs No.1398 into Lodge St Peter Galston No. 331 for the purpose of claiming the Travelling Mallet. Another purpose for the visit was to witness RWM Bro. Joe Fitzgerald confer Honorary Membership of 331 on Bro. Alec Galloway 1398, Bro John Stevely 505 and Bro Stewart Cruickshank 204.
On Tuesday 16 September, Substitute PGM Bro.Drew Rankin lead a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire into Lodge Burns St Mary Hurlford No.505 for their annual visitation. A clear minute was given.
The RWPGM attended Lodge St Clement Riccarton Kilwinning Kilmarnock No.202 on Tuesday 16 September 2008 for the purpose of the Annual Visitation by Provincial Grand Lodge. The Lodge was granted a Clear Minute. The RWM, Brother Gary Mitchell presided over an EA Degree conferred by three recently raised Master Masons.

On Sunday 14 September the RWPGM, accompanied by Depute PGM Bro. Robert Little, Substitute PGM's Bro's Neville Clark and Drew Rankine and PG Secretary Bro. Robert W Stewart, attended a special event hosted by Lodge St Thomas Kilwinning No.433. The brethren of the Lodge met under the direction of their RWM, Brother James McKinstry, and paraded through the town to Dalmellington Parish Church. The parade was led by the Dalmellington Silver Band followed immediately by the Uniformed Scout Movement then the Masonic Brethren. At the Church the Rev Yorke dedicated new Flags for the Scout Movement which had been provided for by the local Lodge. After a most interesting Sermon on "Dedication" all in attendance were invited to return to the Lodge for hospitality. A memorable occasion and one which the Lodge should be very proud of. A fine example of Freemasonry active within the Community.
