The annual visitation to Lodge St David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No.133 took place on 10 February 2009. The PGLA Deputation was headed by SPGM Bro. William Raeside. RWM Bro. John Chalmers welcomed the Deputation into the Lodge and later thanked the SPGM for a clear minute. As always the working Charter under which Burns was initiated was on view. During the meeting it was announced that SD Bro.Jack Fleming had been voted East Ayrshire’s Leisure Development Volunteer of the Year and he was congratulated by all present.

The first of the Spring visitations was carried out on 4 February with the deputation headed by RWPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers. The RWM of Lodge St Peter No.331 Bro. Steven Boylan welcomed the Deputation. Lodge St Peter were given a clear minute.

On 27 January 2009, RWPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers led a Deputation into Lodge Stivenstoune Thistle and Rose No. 169 to present a 50 year Diploma to Bro. Ian McLaren. The RWPGM was assisted in the presentation by PPGM Bro. Adam Cunningham. Also present was Bro. Jonathan Jason Peek (JP) of Lodge Observance No. 686 under the Grand Lodge of Tennessee. At the close of the meeting, the Annual Burns Supper was held.

On 20 January 2009the RWPGM visited Lodge Boswell St James No. 1011 with Bro. William Dykes, Bro.Iain Gemmell and Bro. Stewart Cruickshank. RWM Bro. George Devlin gave the Deputation a warm welcome. A second degree was enjoyed and Bro. Lopez was affiliated into 1011.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Brother Archie Chalmers attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge St Maurs No.1398 on Wednesday 14 January 2009. Right Worshipful Master Brother Daniel Bamford presiding. Past Master Brother Robert W. Stewart of Lodge St Peter No.331 (Provincial Grand Lodge Secretary) delivered an excellent Talk and Presentation on American Freemasonry which was well received by the brethren. Also attending the meeting was Right Worshipful Master Brother Bobby Fleming of Lodge Mosspark No.329.
On 13 January 2009 the RWPGM and PGLA Secretary attended the regular meeting of Lodge St. Barnabas No.230 for the purpose of inspecting the new venue for their meetings. IPM Bro. Scott McKenzie welcomed the PGLA deputation of RWPGM, DPGM Bro. Robert Little, SPGM Bro. Neville Clark, PGS Bro. Robert Stewart and 4 Office bearers. Candidate Thomas Ward  received his Mark Degree. At the end of the meeting PGL Bro. Robert Stewart was pleased to advise the Premises was suitable for Lodge meetings. All further meetings of Lodge St. Barnabas will be held in the Lesser Town Hall in Cumnock.

On 7 January 2009 at the regular meeting of Lodge St Peter No 331 in Galston, RWM Steven Boylin welcomed the Right worshipful Provincial Grand Master into the Lodge. Bro. John Chalmers, RWM of Lodge St. David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No. 133 gave a talk on Robert Burns and Freemasonry.

On 30 December 2008, the RWPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers, SPGM Bro. Neville Clark, Bro.Ian Gemmell and Bro. Stewart Cruickshank visited Lodge The Bonnie Doon No. 565 and witnessed a first degree. RWM Bro. Tom Adams gave the Deputation a very warm welcome.

On 23 December, the RWPGM with Bro. Angus Gorman and Bro. Stewart Cruickshank, made a visit to Lodge St Clement Riccarton (Kilwinning) Kilmarnock No. 202. After being welcomed by RWM Bro.Gary Mitchell, the Brethren witnessed a MM degree on candidate Keiran Pentland. At the end of the meeting Honorary Membership was given to Bro. Bobby Fleming RWM Lodge Mosspark No. 1329. PM Bro.Bert McGregor of Lodge St David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No.133, presented a 202 MM apron to the Lodge. This apron was over 100 years old, belonging to the Master of the Lodge in 1900.

On 22 December the RWPGM made a visit to a business meeting of Lodge St. Thomas No. 201. Also in the Deputation were William Dykes, Angus Gorman and Stewart Cruickshank. At the end of the meeting the RWPGM completed the draw for the Lodge Christmas raffle. The RWM Bro. Roy Brown thanked the RWPGM for his visit and carrying out the draw.

On Wednesday 17 December 2008 the RWPGM attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge Girvan St John's No.237. RWM William Smallwood presided over the meeting at which RWM Tom Adams and Brethren from Lodge The Bonnie Doon No. 565 performed an excellent Mark Master Mason Degree. The Lodge donated the proceeds of the Collection and Raffle to Erskine Hospital (£200).

The RWPGM made an impromptu visit to Lodge Coila St. Andrew No. 1334 on 15 December where he witnessed an EA Degree on Bro. James R Stevenson whom he had the pleasure of welcoming into the Craft. Bro. Ian Gemmell and Bro. Stewart Cruickshank made up the Deputation. The new Masters of 86, 125 and 433 were in attendance.

The RWPGM headed a Deputation into Lodge The Bonnie Doon No. 565 on 10 December 2008. The Deputation was welcomed into the Lodge by RWM Thomas Adams, who with his Brethren conferred a Mark Degree. After the degree, a 70 year Diploma was presented to Bro. Joseph McLean PM. Bro. Joseph now aged 91 entered the Lodge in 1938 and was RWM in 1965-66.

Thursday 4 December 2008, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master headed a Deputation to Lodge St. John New Cumnock No. 334 for the purpose of dedicating a new carpet and rededication of the Lodge after 175 years. Provincial Grand Lodge Chaplain Bro. Rev Ian Benzie dedicated the Carpet and Provincial Grand Lodge Chaplain Bro. Rev Ian MacDonald rededicated the Lodge. PM Bro. John Struthers, who also holds the office of PGL Almoner, was presented with Honorary Grand Rank. There was 17 members of Provincial Grand Lodge present including Past Provincial Grand Master Bro. Adam Cunningham, Depute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Robert Little, Substitute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Drew Rankine, Substitute Provincial Grand Master Bro. William Raeside and Provincial Grand Lodge Secretary Bro. Robert Stewart. After the meeting 334 treated all to a meal.

On 3 December, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro. Archibald Chalmers led a small Deputation into Lodge St John Catrine No. 497. Substitute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Drew Rankine was included in the Deputation. During the meeting the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master presented a 50 year diploma to Bro. James Tanner PM and Bro David McLuskie PM.

Lodge St Peter No. 331, led by their newly installed Right Worshipful Master visited Lodge Burns St Mary No. 505 on 2 December 2008 to confer the Mark Degree. At the end of the evening Bro. Liam Stewart Worshipful Junior Warden of 331, was given Honorary membership of 505 by Right Worshipful Master Bro. Stuart McCall.

On Thursday 20 November 2008, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master attended the regular meeting of Lodge Irvine St Andrew No.149. The business of the evening included the presentation of two 50 year membership diplomas. One to Bro. Tom Robertson and the other to Past Master Bro. Robert Sharpe. The Lodge made a presentation to Past Master Bro. William Haggarty in recognition of him being elected and installed as the Worshipful Senior Provincial Grand Warden of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire. Lodge Mother Kilwinning No.0, under the leadership of their Right Worshipful Master Brother Robert McCrea, were the visiting Lodge and on this occasion conferred a first class Entered Apprentice degree upon one candidate. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master was delighted to have the company of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master from our Sister Province the Provincial Grand Lodge of Kilwinning, Bro. David Bloomfield. At the close of the meeting the Lodge presented a cheque to Mr Fraser Craig of Ayrshire Cancer Support.
On Wednesday evening, 19 November 2008, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master attended the Regular Meeting of Lodge St Andrew No.126 to present a fifty year membership diploma to Brother Tom Hamilton. It was a family affair with the Right Worshipful Master Brother Stuart Hamilton, being his nephew and the Immediate Past Master Brother Craig Hamilton, his brother and the father of the Right Worshipful Master. Brother Tom's father was also a Past Master of the Lodge. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master presented the Diploma and invited Past Provincial Grand Master Brother Adam Cunningham (a Past Master of Lodge St Andrew No.126) to address brother Tom and reminisce over the past 50 years. Past Provincial Grand Master Brother Adam did so eloquently. Such Masonic milestones are a considerable achievement. Also present was Substitute Provincial Grand Master Brother Drew CY Rankine.
