On Sunday 21 August 2011 the Annual Inter Provincial Grand Lodge Bowling Competition took place at Prestwick Bowling Club. The "Friendship Quaich" played alternately in Ayrshire and Renfrewshire West was first presented in 2005 by the Province of Renfrewshire West. This year the friendship between the two Provinces was further cemented with the two Provincial Grand Masters both playing. Brother Archibald Chalmers for Ayrshire and Brother James W. Miller for Renfrewshire West. The weather was excellent as was the company, the bowling, the hospitality and not forgetting, the dinner. Both PGM's thanked everyone concerned for making the arrangements and for a most enjoyable day. Particular thanks going to Brothers Patrick, Williamson and Rankine from "1060" for their continued efforts. Everyone went home having had an great day out. Oh, just as a by-the-by, and in case you were interested --- Ayrshire retained the Quaich. (Due to the sad faces from Renfrewshire West no photographs were taken!!.)

On Saturday 7 May 2011, the annual PGLA Triples Bowling competition was held at Riccarton and Crosshouse Bowling Greens. The finals were played on 8th May.

The Annual Inter Provincial Grand Lodge Bowling Competition between Ayrshire and Renfrewshire West took place on Sunday 22 August 2010 at Gourock Bowling Club. Everyone was welcomed by RWPGM Brother James W. Miller, who also welcomed the Trophy back into his Province albeit only for viewing purposes. 6 rinks from both Provinces enjoyed a great day of bowling and banter, interspersed with equally appreciated hospitality, followed by a most enjoyable meal. Anyone who has visited Gourock Bowling Club will appreciate the magnificent views that can be enjoyed -- when it is not raining. At the close of play the RWPGM Brother Miller announced that although the highest scoring rink was form Renfrewshire West, Ayrshire had retained the Trophy 83 points to 79. RWPGM Brother Archie Chalmers made a fitting reply, thanking Renfrewshire West and Gourock Bowling Club for all the arrangements which had made the day one of great enjoyment. The next Competition will be held at Prestwick Bowling Club in 2011 when Ayrshire will fiercely defend the retention of the Trophy. The proceeds from the Raffle was donated to the Marcus Humphrey House (approx. £150). Regrettably, no photographs were taken.
