On Saturday 22 June 2014 the much anticipated “Masonic Paddle Doon the Watter on the PS Waverley” took place. Approximately 750 Freemasons, family and friends took part in a most enjoyable day out.

The sail from Glasgow to Greenock, Dunoon and Rothesay was in ideal weather conditions. Most staying out on the decks to enjoy the scenery along the Clyde.
On arrival at Rothesay those disembarking were led by 7 pipers, from Lodge The Gael, from the pier to the Masonic Lodge in the town. Both the Lodges of Dunoon and Rothesay made everyone who entered their doors most welcome.
There was entertainment on the boat by a Folk Group, Singers, and Magicians as well as the Pipers. A beautiful souvenir programme which coupled as a Prize Raffle Ticket was sold on the day raising, along with profit from the ticket sales, lapel badges, a silent Auction and Donations much needed funds for the Grand Masters nominated Charity of Prostate Scotland.
Ayrshire’s transport hire donated £100 back to the Fund. A full report of the amount raised will be announced once all expenses have been paid.
Special thanks are due to PM Duncan Stanners, RWM of Lodge No.442, who provided the Helicopter transportation of the MWGMM and his wife Angela, to and from their home in Aberdeenshire.

Brother Cruickshank has excelled himself with the number of photographs taken recently and our PGL website would be much poorer for his absence. Well done Scoops. May I also thank everyone for their support in the venture. Days out like this take a lot of arranging and I feel that the Committee did well on this occasion. Thanks to all.
