Lodge Tarbolton (Kilwinning) St James No 135

Annual Installation 2009

Saturday 5 December 2009 saw Bro. William Lindsay installed as Right Worshipful Master in Lodge St James. He was installed by Bros. Charles McAusland,Gavin Barrie and Jim Hunter, all Past Masters of 135.

At the following dinner, Bro. John Shirkie PM took on the role of Toast Master for the evening which he did very humorously and in his own inimitable fashion. WSW Bro. Ian Taylor toasted the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire in a fine manner. Past Provincial Substitute Grand Master Bro. Archie Patrick eventually got the chance to reply once Bro. Shirkie gave him a suitable introduction.

Around 75 Brethren sat down for the meal and enjoyed some excellent toasts. Bro. Ian Davidson WJW, toasted the visitors, in particular RWM Bro. Milton Fleming of 230 who was replying. RWM Fleming replied making reference to the Davidson brothers now affectionately christened John and Edward. RWM Bro. Colin Cruickshanks of Lodge Coila St Andrew No. 1334 gave an excellent toast to 135 which was appreciated by all Brethren in attendance. A fine evening was had by all at the conclusion of which the brethren joined hands and sang Auld Lang Syne.

Annual Installation 2008

Saturday 6 December 2008 saw Bro. Duncan Fenwick installed as Master in Lodge St James. He was installed by Bros. Brian Hyslop, Charles McAusland and Joe Doolan, all Past Masters of 135.

At the following dinner, Bro. Danny Baird PM took on the role of Toast Master for the evening which he did very humorously. The Lodge was delighted to have WJW Bro Liam stewart of Lodge St Peter No. 331 in attendance who played some tunes on the organ and gave musical accompaniment to the Artistes. WSW Bro. Jim Davidson toasted the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire in a fine manner. Provincial Grand Secretary, Bro. Robert Stewart replied suitably.

Around 70 Brethren sat down for the meal and enjoyed some excellent toasts. Bro. Gavin Barrie PM, toasted the visitors in spite of the heckling of Bro. Jim Bell PM 1060. Gavin was equal to the task and eventually silenced him with some barbed wit. PM Jim Smillie of Lodge Coila St Andrew replied suitably. Brother Iain Gemmell of Lodge St James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125 gave an excellent toast to 135 which was appreciated by all Brethren in attendance.
