On 29 September, RWM Bro. Peter Brown welcomed two Deputations into the Lodge. The first was from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire, headed by RWPGM Bro. Robert Little, the second from Lodge Prestwick No.1060, headed by RWM Bro. Alexander Whannel . After receiving the mallet, RWM Bro. Whannel and his Office-bearers conferred a Mark Degree on one candidate. RWM Bro. Peter Brown then conferred Honorary Membership of the Lodge on Bro. John Trousdale PM 1060.

On 22 September RWPGM Bro. Robert Little headed a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire into Lodge St. James Tarbolton (Kilwinning) No.135 where RWM Bro. Peter Brown extended a warm welcome. Included in the Deputation was Bro. Magnus Engstrom, Depute Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Östergötland in Sweden. Other Lodges represented were St. Jacob (St. John) the Golden Griffin (St. Andrew) and the Golden Circle. A large number of visitors witnessed a FC degree by Lodge St. Barchan No.156.
At Lodge St. James Tarbolton (Kilwinning) No.135 on 15 September, RWM Bro. Peter Brown welcomed two Deputations into the Lodge. The first was from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire, headed by DPGM Bro. William Steel, the second from Lodge St. John No.497, headed by RWM Bro. David McPheators. After receiving the mallet, RWM David McPheators and his Office-bearers conferred a FC Degree on one candidate. RWM Bro. Peter Brown then conferred Honorary Membership of the Lodge on Bro. Sam Peden PM.
On 1 September RWPGM Bro. Robert Little headed a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire into Lodge St. James (Kilwinning) Tarbolton No. 135 where RWM Bro Peter Brown extended a warm welcome. On completion of the Lodge business RWM Bro. Peter Brown and Office-bearers then conferred a EA degree on one candidate.
On 21 April, RWPGM Bro. Robert Little headed a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire into Lodge Tarbolton (Kilwinning) St. James No.135 where RWM Bro. Peter Brown extended a warm welcome. RWM Bro. Peter Brown and his Office-bearers then conferred an Entered Apprentice degree on one candidate.
At the Festival of St. Andrew in November 2016, the MWGMM was pleased to bestow the rank of Honorary Grand Tyler on Bro. Ian Taylor PM. This was presented by the IPPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers at the Quarterly Communication of PGLA on 10 February. RWM Bro. Peter Brown further congratulated Bro. Ian at the regular meeting on 17 February.
The Annual Honorary Members degree was held on 2 December 2016. A team of Honorary Members led by Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM Lodge Ayr St. Paul No.204 conferred the Mark Degree on one candidate. The Offices were filled by Bro. Jim Bell PM 1060, Bro. Jim Sturgeon PM 125 , Bro. Clark McCrindle RWM 1334, Bro. Robert McLauchlan PM 1060, Bro. Gordon Heggie PM 1194, Bro.John Hay PM 1334, Bro. Billy Niven PM 133 and Bro. John McMaster PM 566. Lectures were given by Bro. Bill Lang PM 544 and Bro. Jim Cameron PM 1194.
On 21 October, SPGM Bro. James Bell headed a Deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire into the Lodge for the Annual Visitation. RWM Bro. Graham McCrone welcomed the Deputation. After completion of the business, a FC degree was conferred on one candidate by the RWM and Office-bearers. SPGM Bro. James Bell then carried out the business of the Annual PGLA visitation and granted the Lodge a clear minute.
The Lodge hosted the annual Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire Masters' Walk on Sunday 25 September 2016. Reigning Masters and representatives from various Lodges across the Province walked the six mile route from the Lodge to Coilsfield Road, up to Largie Toll and back to the Lodge via the Mauchline to Tarbolton Road. On return to the Lodge Mrs McCrone laid on a splendid buffet. The event was arranged by SPGM Bro. Stephen McConnachie who is the fund raising Chairman, with all sponsorship monies and donations for the walk being given to charity at some point later in the year. PGLA gave thanks for the buffet provided and for the efforts of all who took part.
At the regular meeting on 23 September, Lodge Prestwick No.1060 conferred the Fellowcraft degree on one candidate. At the close of the meeting The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master presented a fifty year diploma to Bro. Ian Boyd PM. He was then presented with a quaich from the Brethren of 1060 and a specially made card from his Mother Lodge 135 and a cake to mark the occasion baked by Elizabeth Barrie. The Right Worshipful Master Bro. Graham McCrone also conferred Honorary Membership on Bro. Robert McLauchlan PM of Lodge Prestwick No.1060.

On 4 December 2015, RWM Bro. Tom MacLeod capped off a fine year in Office by allowing the Honorary Members of the Lodge to confer the Mark degree on four candidates. Two from 135 and two French Brethren who had been given permission through Grand Lodge to take their Mark degree in 135. The team was led by Bro. Jim Bell PM 1060 and assisted by WSW Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM 204, WJW Bro. Jim Cameron PM 1194, SD Bro. Clark McCrindle 1334, IG Bro. Gordon Heggie PM 1194, Bro. Jim Hainey PM 125, Bro. John McMaster PM 566, Bro. Jim Gourlay PM 86, Bro. John Graham 1334, Bro. Jim Sturgeon PM 125 and Bro. Bill Lang PM 544. A very fine degree was conferred along with a good degree of humour which was much appreciated by the large number of Brethren in attendance. The RWM concluded by thanking all who had assisted over his year in Office and to his family for their support.

On 1 March, the Annual PGLA Indoor Bowling competition was held in Prestwick Indoor Bowling Club sponsored by Alan Patrick and Gordon Middleton. The winners of the competition was a team from Lodge Tarbolton (Kil) St. James No.135 with the runners up from Lodge Thistle and Rose No.169. The winning Team were Kenny Bryson, Graham McKinley, John Lindsay and skip Peter Brown. The runners up were George Reid, Jim Whitelaw, Lee Cochran and skip Norman Collett.
On 20 February, RWM Bro. Tom MacLeod welcomed RWPGM Bro. Robert Little and then a Deputation from Lodge Coila St. Andrew No.1334 headed by RWM Bro. Stuart McCarly. Lodge Coila St. Andrew conferred a Mark degree on one Bro. Stewart Baird.

The Mauchline Burns Club organised a Wreath Laying ceremony at the National Burns memorial Tower in Mauchline on Sunday 25 January. After a short ceremony at the tower, wreaths were laid to commemorate the Bard's birthday. Lodge St David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No.133 and Lodge Tarbolton (Kil) St James No.135 were represented by the Masters of both Lodges providing a rare photo opportunity atop the tower.

James Sturgeon PM Lodge St James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125, Bro. Clark McCrindle Coila St Andrew No.1334, James Hainey PM Lodge St James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125, Bro. Gordon Heggie PM Lodge Tollcross No.1194, Bro. William Niven PM Lodge St David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No.133, Bro John McMaster PM Fergusson St James No.566, Bro. John Hay PM Coila St Andrew No.1334, Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM lodge Ayr St Paul No.204, Bro. James Cameron RWM Lodge Tollcross No.1194, Bro. William Lang PM Lodge St Andrew No.544 and Bro. Bro. Torben Hellmund PM Lodge Tuta Vallis Holstebro No.520 of the Danish Constitution. The Mark Degree was conferred on Bro. Ross MacLeod.
At the Regular meeting of Lodge St. James Tarbolton (Kilwinning) No.135 on 16 May, the RWPGM accompanied by IPPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers and DPGM Bro. William Steel along with other members of PGLA saw the relics of the Lodge pertaining to it's founding period along with the Minute books from it's inception. Bro. John Shirkie PM gave a very informative and entertaining lecture on the Lodge history with particular reference to the Burns period which was very much appreciated by all present. The RWPGM expressed his thanks as did the IPPGM who congratulated Bro. John on his depth of knowledge on the subject as well as his unique style of delivering the lecture. The Brethren then retired to the lower hall for refreshments.
The RWPGM Bro. Robert Little visited Lodge St. James Tarbolton (Kilwinning) No.135 on 18 April. He was accompanied by PPGM Bro. Adam Cunningham and SPGM Bro. James Bell on an unofficial visit. SPGM Bro. Jim delivered a eulogy on the life and Masonic career of Bro. William Stirling PM 1060 who joined Lodge St James in 1950. Having witnessed an EA degree the Brethren then retired to the lower hall for hospitality and harmony.

On Sunday 2 March 2014, PGLA held the Annual Indoor Bowling competition at The Ambassador Indoor Bowling, Prestwick. The competition was sponsored by Gordon Middleton and Patrick & Thomson Building Supplies Ltd organised by Archibald Patrick PM 1060. Margaret Patrick and Sam Peden Substitute Provincial Grand Master, presented the prizes to winners Lodge Tarbolton (Kilwinning) St. James No.135,  Kenny Bryson, John Lindsay and  Peter Brown, Skip Joe McGinley Jnr. The runners-up were Jim Bauldil, John Dillet, Jim McKeen and Skip John Keir from Prestwick No. 1060.

On 21 February 2014 the Lodge conferred a MM Degree on Bro. James Graham. At the end of the business RWM Bro. Sammy Duffy conferred Honorary membership on Bro. James Gourlay PM of Lodge Troon Navigation No.86. Bro. Gourlay was delighted to receive this accolade and informed the Brethren of how he felt having had this bestowed upon him.
The Annual Installation was held on Saturday 7 December 2013. Bro. Samuel Reid Duffy was installed in the Chair by PMs Bro. Colin Ritchie, Bro. Gavin Barrie and Bro. David Rae. An excellent Harmony was held in the Social Club where many good speeches and toasts were given with the Artistes in particular good voice.
On 6 Dec 13 the Lodge hosted the Annual Honorary Members Degree which was chaired this year by Bro. Jim Bell PM 1060. A MMM degree was conferred on Bro. Graham McGinlay. Bro Jim was assisted by Bro. Bill Carson PM 544, Bro Adam Cunningham PM 126, Bro. Bro. Clark McCrindle 1334, Bro. Jim Hainey PM 125, Bro Jim Smillie PM 1334, Bro. David Dick PM 565, Bro. Jim Sturgeon PM 125, Bro. Gordon Heggie PM 1194, Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM 204, Bro. Bill Lang PM 544, Bro. Billy Niven PM 133 and Bro. Jim Cameron PM 1194. Also attending were HMs Bro. Tony Barton PM No.11 and Bro. Milton Fleming PM 230.
The Lodge visited Lodge St Andrew No.544 in Coatbridge, 50 years to the day since the first inter visitation first began and conferred a second degree. RWM Bro. Ian Davidson chaired the degree with Office-bearers from both Lodges taking part. RWM Bro. William Carson 544 conferred honorary membership on Bro. Gavin Barrie PM and Bro. Robert Ross PM along with the RWPGM of PGL Lanarkshire Middle Ward Bro. Thomas Davidson. A dinner and harmony followed with many speeches and entertainment to mark the occasion.
The RWPGM Bro. Robert Little, supported by IPPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers and SPGMs Bro. Jim Bell, Bro. Sam Peden and Bro. Robert Stewart visited Lodge St James (Kilwinning) Tarbolton No.135 on 5 April 2013 along with a large Deputation from PGLA. After witnessing a first degree conferred upon Bro. Rev Alex Shuttleworth, the RWPGM assisted by IPPGM Bro. Chalmers, presented 50 year diplomas to Bro. Jack Taylor and Bro. Ronnie Graham. They both then presented a jewel to Bro. Duncan Fenwick PM to mark his Honorary Grand Rank in the Grand Lodge of Scotland.
Lodge St. David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No.133 (Burn's Mother Lodge) visited Lodge St James on 1 February 2013 and conferred a second degree in an exemplary manner. The RWM Bro. Jack Fleming then presented the Lodge with an apron which dated back to the early nineteenth century. The apron (below centre) was handed into Lodge St Ebbe No.70 a number of years ago and has been in their possession ever since. Lodge St Ebbe contacted Lodge St David to say that they would like to return the Apron to Its Rightful owners and duly posted it out. On receipt of the Apron and on closer inspection, the Lodge name which appears on the apron was not St David but St James 133 which caused a bit of a puzzle. Further enquiries with Grand Lodge revealed that Lodge St James was numbered 133 during the period 1816-26, before assuming its current number of 135, during the same period Lodge St David was numbered 131, and is now 133.The apron is now therefore with its rightful owners at Lodge St James.
Bro. Neil Redmond's visit to his Mother Lodge St James (Kilwinning) Tarbolton No.135 on 7 December 2012 marked 70 years since his initiation on 4 December 1942. RWPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers made a special visit to present him with a 70 year Jubilee certificate and pay tribute to his masonic career. Bro. Neil replied in his remarkably sharp, witty manner. Bro. Neil will be 100 years old in April 2013. The Brethren of the Lodge also presented Neil with a cake in the form of an apron.
The Annual Installation was held on 1 December when RWM Bro. Ian Davidson was installed in to the chair. Bro.Jim Davidson PM 135, led the team ably supported by Bro. Gavin Barrie PM 135 who installed the Office-bearers. Bro. John Shirkie PM 135 completed the team. The Brethren then retired to the Masonic Social Club where the usual toasts and replies were given and received.
On 30 Nov the Lodge held the Annual Honorary Members Degree. This was a Mark Master degree which this year was led by PM Bro. John Coats of Lodge Troon Navigation No.86. Two candidates received this degree from the team which consisted of Bro. Jim Bell PM 1060, Bro.Jim Hainey PM 125, Bro. Jim Sturgeon PM 125, Bro. Adam Cunningham PM 126, Bro. John Hay PM 1334, Bro. Robert Kerr 1334, Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM 204, Bro. Ronnie McCormack PM 156, Bro. George McCall PM 544, Bro. Bill Lang PM 544 and Bro. William Carson PM 544.
SPGM Bro. William Steel headed the Deputation to the Lodge on 19 October on the occasion of the Annual Visitation. He was assisted by SPGM Bro. Sam Peden and ten other members of PGLA. The WSW Bro. Sammy Duffy conferred a fine second degree. SPGM Bro. Steele awared the Lodge a clear minute. PG Organist Bro. William Pettigrew spoke on the Lodge benevolence whilst PG Standard-bearer Bro. Stewart Cruickshank spoke on the degree work.
Lodge Tollcross No.1194 visited Lodge St. James on 28 September 2012 and conferred a fine second degree. The RWPGM also headed a Deputation from PGLA who enjoyed the degree. The RWPGM then spoke on the 50 year service of Bro. John Weir before presenting him with a Jubilee Certificate.
Lodge St Andrew No.544 travelled down to Tarbolton on 14 September 2012 to confer a Mark Degree. This keeps alive a tradition of over 50 years unbroken inter visitations between the two Lodges. Bro. William Carson PM 544 HM 135 conferred the degree with many other well known Brethren from 544 taking part. After this the Brethren retired to the Masonic Social Club for a well earned harmony.
On Friday 18 May 2012, RWM Bro. Ian Taylor received a large Deputation of Office-bearers, Past Masters and Brethren from Lodge St. James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125 led by RWM Bro. Sam Wales. The Deputation was warmly welcomed by the assembled Brethren and on receipt of the emblem, proceeded to advance two MMs of 135 to the honorable degree of Mark Master. The emblem was returned to RWM Bro. Ian Taylor who then proceeded to honour Lodge St. James No.125 and in particular, one of their senior Past Masters, Bro. James Hainey by conferring on him Honorary Membership of Lodge Tarbolton (Kilwinning) St. James No.135. PM Bro. Jim Hainey thanked RWM Bro. Taylor and the Brethren of the Lodge most sincerely for seeing fit to recognise his contribution to the Lodge in such a manner. A most enjoyable evening was concluded by the assembled Brethren retiring to the hall for some harmony and an opportunity to renew old friendships.
Lodge Girvan St. Johns No.237 annual charity meeting was held on Saturday 12 May 2012. Brethren from Ayrshire and Galloway joined in harmony at Girvan to raise money for local charities, RWM Bro. Robert McMaster of Lodge Girvan St.Johns No.237 welcomed RWM Bro.Ian Taylor and Brethren of Lodge Tarbolton No.135 who carried out a MMM degree.
On 17 February 2012 Lodge Prestwick No.1060 visited to confer the second degree on Bro. Daniel Baird Jnr. A Deputation from PGLA was also welcomed in to the Lodge. The Deputation was headed by the RWPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers HM 135. Bro. Archie had no official business but to attend and enjoy the harmony of the two Lodges which he assures us he did. The Lodge was also delighted to receive his company at the harmony supper following the meeting.
The Lodge held it's annual Honorary Members degree on 2 Dec 2011. Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM Lodge Ayr St Paul No.204 took the chair and led a team from various Lodges throughout the Province as well as from 3 Sister Provinces. Two candidates received the Mark master degree at their hands in a relaxed but very satisfactory manner.
On 8 November 2011 the Lodge visited Lodge St Barnabas No.230 in Cumnock. RWM Bro. Jim Davidson was unable to attend, however Bro. John Shirkie PM steeped in to confer the degree which it did in an excellent manner. The degree was a fellowcraft which was conferred on one candidate. A Deputation was in attendance from Provincial Grand Lodge headed by the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro. Archibald Chalmers. On handing back the mallet, RWM Bro. Milton Fleming, himself an honorary member of 135 conferred the same honour on Bro. John Shirkie by enrolling him as an honorary member of St Barnabas.
At the Regular meeting on 21 Oct 2011, a second degree was conferred by Worshipful Senior Warden Bro. Ian Davidson and his conferring team. This was also the occasion of the Annual Visitation by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire. Substitute Provincial Grand Master Bro. Samuel Peden headed a Deputation of 11 Brethren from PGLA in to the Lodge The SPGM read his report which was full of praise for the workings, administration and finances of the Lodge. Acting PGWSW Bro. William Grant spoke on donations by the Lodge to Masonic and Non Masonic charities. Acting PGWJW Bro. John O'Neill spoke on the degree work and praised all who took part in the night's degree and the other workings of degrees both in and out of the Province. A clear minute was granted. The SPGM also took time to present Bro. Matthew Parker Train PM with a Jubilee Diploma for fifty years service. The SPGM spoke on the service given by Bro. Train not only to Lodge St James but to the PGLA. Bro. Train thanked the Lodge and PGLA in his own inimitable and humorous fashion.
On Friday 18 February 2011, Lodge St John Catrine No.497 visited Tarbolton to confer the Fellowcraft Degree. 82 Brethren signed the attendance book and witnessed Right Worshipful Master Brother Alex Tanner work an excellent rendering of the degree. Following on from the meeting a pleasant evening was had by all in the company of our Brethren from 497.
RWM Bro. William Lindsay held a Mark Degree on Friday 3 December 2010 which, as his last meeting as RWM, he handed over to the Honorary Members of the Lodge. Two candidates were advanced to that rank by Bro. Stewart Cruickshank PM Lodge Ayr St Paul No.204, who headed the Deputation. He was assisted by Bro. Gordon Heggie PM Lodge Tollcross No.1194, Bro. Jim Smillie Lodge Coila St Andrew No.1334, Bro. Ronnie McCormack PM Lodge St Barchan No.156, Bro. Jim Sturgeon PM Lodge St James Newton-upon-Ayr No.125, Bro. Robert Kerr Lodge Coila St Andrew No.1334, Bro. David Dick RWM Lodge the Bonnie Doon No.565, Bro. Jim Bell PM Lodge Prestwick No.1060, Bro. John Hay PM Lodge Coila St Andrew No.1334, Bro. Bobby Watt PM Lodge St Barchan No.156, Bro. Adam Cunningham PM Lodge St Andrew No.126, Bro Jim Cameron PM Lodge Tollcross No.1194, Bro John Coats Lodge Troon Navigation No.86 and Bro. Tam Fergusson also of Lodge Troon Navigation No.86.
The RWM welcomed PGLA in to the Lodge on 15 Oct 10 on the occasion of the Annual Visit. SPGM Bro. Drew Rankine headed the Deputation. The RWM also welcomed Brethren from The District Grand Lodge of Palliser in Canada, representing the Grand Lodge of Alberta Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. This Deputation was headed by the District Deputy Grand Master RW Bro. Ken Montgomery accompanied by our own RWPGM Bro. Archie Chalmers. Following a FC Degree the Lodge was awarded a clear minute. Bro montgomery spoke on his visit and his family research. At the close of the meeting he was given a tour of the Lodge museum and a brief history of the Lodge which included mention of his Montgomerie connections in the local area.
On 24 Sep 2010 RWM Bro. William Lindsay welcomed over 90 Brethren in to the Lodge. A visit was paid by the RWPGM Bro. Archibald Chalmers who was delighted top present a framed photograph of the MWGMM Bro. Charles Ian Robert Wolrige Gordon of Esslemont to mark his appreciation of the hospitality shown by the Lodge on the occasion of his visit to Ayrshire on 22 May. As well as the EA Degree being conferred on two candidates by DM Bro. James Davidson, the RWM was delighted to receive a Deputation of Brethren from the Danish Constitution, headed by an Honorary Member of 135, Bro. Peder Nielson PM Lodge Phoenix no. 817.
The PGL Indoor Bowling Competition was held on Sunday 8 February 2009 at Prestwick Indoor. The competition is sponsored by Bro. Archibald Patrick of Lodge 1060 and Bro. Gordon Middleton of Lodge 314. The results are as follows Runners up: Lodge Tarbolton (Kil) St. James 135. Bro. Alex Stevenson, Bro. Danny Christie, Bro. John Rae and Bro. Jim Scott. Winners: Lodge Tarbolton (Kil) St. James 135. Bro. Billy Duffy, Bro.Neil Christie, Bro. Peter Brown and Bro. Joe McGinley.

Approximately 90 Brethren attended the competition and all enjoyed the days bowling, and filled roll with Tea or Coffee at the start of the day followed by a good Lunch.

On Friday 6 February 2009 Lodge Coila St Andrew No.1334 paid a visit to 135 to confer the second degree. After an excellent ceremonial, the RWM Bro. Duncan Fenwick conferred Honorary Membership on RWM Bro. Jim Smillie. RWM Bro. Jim stated that it was a great honour to receive this. He was overwhelmed by this gesture and promised to support Lodge St James to the best of his ability. The Brethren then adjourned to the Masonic Club for a Harmony meal.
